The FabCom and Chromarray series explore thresholds of visual perception through the agency of color, medium, and material in drawings, paintings, and sewn felt constructions.  The images play with and against the human instinct to pull the identifiable from the abstract, hovering between abstraction and suggested representations such as maps, biological and botanical specimens, and medical imaging. 

In these works, color is generated through a reciprocity of manual and digital processes to reference the “irrational” color of genetic patterns or hallucinatory states, overlaying notions of the “natural”, “unnatural”, and “artificial”.
